Josh and Hazel’s Guide to Not Dating by Christina Lauren follows Josh and Hazel as they slowly become best friends after previously knowing each other in college. Hazel’s apartment floods and Josh graciously lets Hazel move in because he’s going to be away for a few weeks. Josh returns from his trip heartbroken they begin hanging out every day.
Soon they decide to start going on blind dates together and they each try and play matchmaker for each other. Disastrous date after date unfolds and Josh and Hazel learn they really prefer hanging out with each other. After drunkenly hooking up one night - they both start to wonder if they’ve ruined their friendship or unlocked the key to so much more?
I really loved this one. It’s so quick i read it in about 2.5 hours. Hazel is eccentric and confident and so uniquely and unapologetically her. And Josh completely and utterly accepts her for who she is at her core. For all the girls who’ve ever felt too weird, too odd, to crazy, too out-there, too much, too pick-your-synonym and think they’ll never find their Prince Charming - this one’s for you.
