Red, White & Royal Blue

Red, White & Royal Blue by @casey.mcquiston follows Alex Claremont-Diaz, a Mexican-American young man from Texas whose mother just happens to be POTUS. Alex’s long time nemesis is none other than Prince Henry of Wales, the royal darling. After an incident requires them to fake a deep friendship, Alex starts to question everything he thought he knew about spare to the heir.

The two spend more and more time together to keep up appearances and Alex starts to question the dynamic between them. They begin a secret relationship and agree to keep things fun and casual until deeper feelings start to develop. Could this be the real deal or could their relationship threaten international affairs?

I really enjoyed this debut! The banter between Alex and Henry had me cackling aloud so many times. Their relationship was so angsty, heartwarming, heart-breaking, sweet, passionate, nervous...just everything. I loved seeing their dynamic unfold. Both of them struggle with their identities while under the microscope of being prominent political figures. They both struggle with duty to country over personal happiness and the sacrifices that sometimes must be made for the greater good. This one is equal parts romance and political drama as a series of events unfold across an international playing field that will keep you wanting more!
