Beyond the Point by @clairecgibson follows three friends Hannah, Avery and Dani when they meet attending West Point together. The timeline shifts POV between the three girls alternating between their days at West Point and their relationships in the present. Each of the girls takes a different path after graduation and you see how the friendships evolve and strain, then strengthen and change as life happens.
Tragedy draws them back together and we learn how each of the girls got to where they are today. Faith is questioned. Hope is questioned. Love is questioned. And the girls find themselves asking who they are, how they move on and why they’re still here....
UGH MY HEART. This book is definitely in my top 10 this year. I saw part of myself in each of the girls. I loved them all for very different reasons. Claire’s writing is so beautiful yet so heartbreaking. YOU NEED TO READ THIS BOOK. It will crush your heart and gut your soul but it is so important. This one is an examination of survival in the wake of tragedy. An exploration in that even during the darkest times, light rises up and drives it away. This one is going to sit with me for awhile and I hope it sits with you too!
Special thanks to @diana_bibliophile for setting up a special chat with @clairecgibson last night. We got to chat with Claire about her idea for the story, real life influences and learn more about her writing process. It only made me love this book even more! If this one isn’t already on your list - it needs to be! Grab your copy and embark on what I bet will be one of your favorite books this year!!
