Dark Matter by @blakecrouch1 begins by following Jason Dessen with his wife and son Daniela and Charlie. Jason takes a trip out to the store when he is held at gunpoint by a man and forced to get into his car and follow his exact instructions. The man leads him into a warehouse and injects his arm with an unknown substance. When he wakes up he is being decontaminated by a hazmat team and he finds himself in a lab being applauded for coming home.
According to the researchers he wakes up to, he’s been gone for 14 months and they can’t wait to hear about his time away. In this world he’s a renowned scientist who devised a way to defy everything we know about space and time. Jason knows deep down that this can’t be his world but struggles for explanation. Is he crazy? Dreaming? Sick? High? Will he ever get back to the life and family he loves?
I read this for #notyomamasbookclub and IT. WAS. AMAZING. Despite all the romance I read I actually love sci-fi kind of books like this and boy did it deliver! The writing was amazing, the plot fast-paced and I was on the edge of my seat the entire time trying to figure it out. I listened to this one on audio and it was fantastic if you’re a fan of audiobooks! For fans of Inception and other similar types of stories - I promise you’ll DEVOUR this one!
