A Favor for a Favor is the second installment in Helena Hunting’s new All-In series which functions as a Pucked spin-off. After meeting Rookie RJ Rook in the first book and following his love story with Lainey, this second book follows his sister Stevie. Fresh out of physiotherapy school and Stevie is just about to start a new job when she finds her boyfriend cheating on her on her birthday. She goes to stay at her brother’s penthouse apartment after the world’s worst day and is accosted by her angry and disgruntled but incredibly hot neighbor Bishop.
They continue with this hostile back and forth as Bishop assumes RJ is cheating on his wife and Stevie just can’t understand what his problem is. They continue this cat and mouse game until Bishop learns Stevie is RJ’s sister and it just so happens Rook and Bishop cannot stand one another. Then Bishop takes a nasty hit on the ice and is left with a devastating groin injury. He’s desperate to get back on the ice and prove himself to the team. Just so happens Stevie is desperate to rehab a professional player so she can build her portfolio on her own merits without having to use her brother’s connections. They strike a deal – she rehabs him extra at home to build her experience and he gets the extra PT he needs to get back on the ice as quick as possible. It’s just a favor for a favor…what could possibly go wrong?
Ahh I love a good enemies to lovers romance. This one is a SLOW BURN but its laced with so much sexual tension and angst that it is so worth it when it finally pays off. Bishop is prickly and can be hard to deal with and needs someone like Stevie to call him on his shit. She speaks her mind and doesn’t let his ever shifting moods get her down. We also get cameos from RJ and Lainey and Alex and Violet so as always I love when these characters continue to intersect in one another’s lives! This one isn’t out till Jan 2020 but I’m already dying to see who the third book will be about (I think I have an idea…)
