Not So Nice Guy by R.S. Grey follows best friends Samantha and Ian. They are both teachers and have been the best of friends for the last three years. Sam has been crushing on Ian for forever but knows that there’s no way in hell he’d ever be interested in someone like her. Ian is also very much into Sam but doesn’t think she reciprocates any feelings. And neither is brave enough to tell the other that there could be something more. Until Ian decides he’s done waiting…
Ian starts to slowly increase his flirtation and let Sam know that he is very willing to go there with her. Though this is everything Sam thought she wanted, she freaks out and can’t get out from inside her own head. This could be everything or it could ruin the close friendship they’ve worked so hard to build. Then a misunderstanding happens after a flirty exchange that could threaten to destroy their friendship and any hopes of a relationship all together…
I liked this one. I listened to the audio in one day and it was a quick, light read. It started really strong with some great banter and there definitely is some steam paced throughout. After the “misunderstanding” it began to dive into a bunch of cheesy cliches that were a tad unbelievable but it was still cute if you can overlook them. If you’re looking for an easy friends-to-lovers to listen to while you get stuff done this was perfect for that!
